We want to thank the children, (Elizabeth, Claudia, Dwaynne and Debora) and family, who has worked so cooperatively to help us with the Library. They have set up a visual overview of the Library in the Great Hall, until we are complete with setting of the planned location on the second floor of the Administrative Wing. We ask that you please visit the display.

The Library will have writings and tapes by Brother J. Frank McGill and many Pioneer Preachers such as G. P. Bowser, Marshall Keeble, J. S. Winston, R. N. Hogan, Levi Kennedy and Brother McGill’s Contempories G. P. Holt, Clyde Muse, Jack Evans Sr., Samuel Jordan, K. K. Mitchell, Eugene Lawton, and his good friend and comrade in the faith William Baker.

The Library is dedicated to the faithfulness of Brother J. Frank McGill for his thirty three (33) years as a Preacher of Righteousness. The Library will serve as a collection and preservation of the historical facts concerning the Restoration Movement of the Churches of Christ in America, and specific contributions African Americans played in this great movement of the Church. The Library will also preserve the rich history of the Midwest Church of Christ from our beginning and for years to come. Each year, the Leadership will request all Sunday School classes to take an historical visit to the Library at least once each year. This Library will also be used as one of the lessons for our New Convert class.

The J. Frank McGill

In the early 80’s Midwest under the leadership of Brother McGill hosted the Kentucky Lectureship, providing opportunity for young men throughout Kentucky, such as Brother Jerry L. Stephenson to preach on fundamental doctrinal principles of the Bible and of the Church. It was the desire of Brother McGill and Brother William Baker, Minister/Elder of the Newburg Church of Christ to have this as an annual Lectureship. With this in mind, we will start again the Lectureship in 2009 and we are thankful for the Ministers from throughout Kentucky who has come to kick this Lectureship off.
